A.k.a. Robert Pikler, O.B.E.
Hungarian classical viola player (24 January 1909 - 16 January 1984). Trained under Eugene Ormandy and Nandor Zsolt, and became a well-known concert performer in Europe in the 1930s, before taking his own orchestra to India in 1934. He moved to Australia after WWII, and was a founder member of the Musica Viva Chamber Orchestra Society of Australia in 1949. Became the leader of the viola section of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 1952.
