Sir Robert Scott, English actor and businessman (b. 1944 in Minehead, Somerset). Attended Merton College, Oxford in the 1960s studying dramatic arts where he was appointed President of the Oxford University Dramatic Society. After graduating, formed the 69 Theatre Company in 1968 (which later became the Royal Exchange Theatre) and subsequently became managing director of Manchester Theatres Ltd. Knighted in 1994, was noted later in his career for his involvement with the International Olympic Committee.
