Composer of Electronic
Robin Julian Heifetz is a composer specializing in the electroacoustic media. He received the doctorate in composition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1978. He served as composer-in-residence at EMS Stockholm (Sweden), Colgate University (USA), Tel-Aviv University (Israel), the Institute for Psychoacoustics and Electronic Music (Belgium), and Audio-Digital Laboratories (Canada), among others. During the 1980s, he served as an assistant professor and the director of the Center for Experimental Music of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel). He is presently on the music faculty of Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, California (USA). His more recent electroacoustic works have been released on Volumes II, V, VII and VIII of Electroshock Records and he is presently working on a full-length release of his music for Electroshock. In the last few years, he has drifted away from pure electronic works and has been engaged in mixed-media compositions.
