South African hip-hop MC from Johannesburg, Gauteng, Robo first emerged on the scene in the mid-nineties, as one half of the duo Robo & Omen, independently releasing an EP on cassette titled "Day 7" to some acclaim. Later Robo & Omen would part ways in pursuit of their solo careers, with Robo finding a home at Iapetus, where he released his debut solo effort "Robo The Technician" in 2009, this earned him a nomination for "Best Lyricist in South Africa" at Hype Magazine 's 2009 Hype Awards. On 26 October 2013 Robo passed away due to unknown circumstances.
