Traditional country music has been an integral part of family life in the Ozarks throughout history. In past times, dependence on neighbors and family strength meant survival to those carving their lives out of the mountains. Getting together to pick, sing and dance offered not only relief from difficult times, but also an opportunity to experience that pure joy that people can share with each other through their music. We feel that in this day and time the same family values are still as important to people's lives as in the past. In the Silver Dollar Jubilee we try to present the music in the same spirit that has kept it alive all these years. By sharing good old-time music and fun with families we hope to recreate some of those feelings of strength and togetherness that were the foundation of this land and it's people.
