Rodolphe Kreutzer was a French violinist, composer and conductor. Ludwig van Beethoven dedicated his Violin Sonata No.9 in A major, Op.47 to Rodolphe Kreutzer; however, he never played the work in his lifetime. He was born in Versailles on 16 November 1766 and died in Geneva on 6 January 1831.
