Roger Adams was born in Shoreham, Sussex in 1951 and began playing guitar in the blues/rock genre as a teenage “prodigy” in 1967, soon finding himself sharing the stage with bands like Deep Purple at the tender age of 16! By 1971 Roger was on a nationwide concert tour as lead guitarist of hard rock three-piece Beggars Death, which eventually metamorphosed into Krakatoa, adding along the way such noteworthy members as vocalist/songwriter Maggie Ryder, top Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer, and Roger’s composing partner, drummer Nigel Glockler, best known as the driving force behind UK rock band Saxon. After a stint in the early 1980s with London’s Marquee Club regulars Amazon, Roger returned to his musical roots in 1987 and teamed up with Sussex-based blues outfit, The Desperate Dan Band with whom he performed and recorded extensively, including appearances at festivals, major London venues and on BBC Radio and TV. In addition to recording music for broadcast use with Nigel Glockler, Roger has a parallel career designing shoes with his wife Sarah and performs live with various bands including his own blues/rock trio, Roger Adams’ RoAdworks, alongside bassist Jim Bryan and drummer Justin Hildreth.
