Roger Willemsen (born 15 August 1955 in Bonn, Germany - died 7 February 2016) was a German author and essayist. Willemsen studied German philology, philosophy and history of art in Bonn, Florence, Munich and Vienna and began working as a night watchman, tour guide, museum attendant, translator, lecturer and correspondent from London. In 1991 he made it into TV, conducting interviews and presenting cultural programmes. In 1993 he's been awarded the Adolf-Grimme-Prize. He supported several aid organizations such as amnesty international and Terre des Femmes. Willemsen died of cancer aged 60.
