Fresno, CA ROIL was formed in the Summer of 92 or thereabouts by Eric Crowfoot (guitar and vocal), Brandon Angle (bass and vocal) and Skip Buhler (drums). Emerging out of the hardcore political punk band Discernably Turgid State (of which KONDOMNATION's Steve Sleaze was a short term member), ROIL took on more personal themes, while continuing to condemn the US political system and its abuse of the citizenry. Humor was nevertheless key to this verbal strike, something not unlike the Dead Kennedys and NOFX. Other influences included: Husker Du, Johnny Cash, Social Distortion, X, Fugazi, Sabbath, Ramones, Nakd Aggression, Capitol Punishment, SUB HUM ANS and Born Against.
