Ronald Leith is an Aberdonian who since 1973 has been organist, and since 1979 Director of Music, at St. Mary's (Roman Catholic) Cathedral, Aberdeen. He is also city carilloneur. He studied organ and harpsichord at the Royal College of Music in London, and in 1972 won first prize in the National Organ Playing competition at Southport. Since then he has undertaken many recitals and tours both in the U.K. and on the continent, as well as broadcasting regularly on Radio 3. He was the organist in the première of the Cantata [i. e. Ronald Center – Dona Nobis Pacem] in March 1978.
