Rock (Rock’n’Roll, Rockabilly)
Recorded during the summer of 1958 in a small studio on Kingston Road, Toronto, and released both as 45 and 78 rpm discs in a pressing of a few hundred copies. The label credits only Ronnie Hawkins, but this was the first recording by Ronnie Hawkins & The Hawks, at this time still calling themselves The Ron Hawkins Quartet. Re-released by the fan club in 1978 as Hey Bo Diddley, credited to The Ron Hawkins Quartet, and again in 1979 on Rrrracket Time.
