Danish poet (1926-1964). Infected by polio in the great outbreak in 1952 at the age 26 Rosa Abrahamsen paralyzed except for her right arm and remained hospitalized for the rest of her lige at Blegdammen Hospital, Copenhagen. She became famous as "Blegdammens Rose" and a symbol of will to live for the mostly young people struck by the disease. She had to poetry collections published and set set to music by Hugo Gyldmark.
