Rosalie Allen was born Julie Marlene Bedra, June 27, 1924 in Old Forge, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, died September 24, 2003. She was one of the first women to enjoy major success as a country music singer in the 1940's although she and her contemporaries were greatly overshadowed by the blockbuster career of Kitty Wells during the 1950's by which time Rosalie's career had long since peaked although she remained active.
