Compiled from three Folkways albums: "Music of Roscoe Holcomb" (FA 2363, 1961) recorded at Sanders Recording Studio, 46th St. and Times Square, New York City; "The High Lonesome Sound" (FA 2368, 1964) recorded at Steinway Hall, New York City; and "Close To Home" (FA 2374, 1972) recorded on Roscoe's front porch, Daisy, Kentucky. Additional recordings taken from a concert performance in Cambridge, Mass. in 1973. The title comes from a quotation by Bob Dylan. Manufactured in USA.
