(23rd June 1841 at King William Street, Gateshead - 9th June 1897 in Sunderland) Moved into a life in music hall as a singer/entertainer when he was young man. He performed all around the north east amusing folk with his own brand of humour and songs He eventually moved into pub management at The Commercial in Winlaton. His song, Geordy Black, remains well known.
