Roy Milton (born July 31, 1907, Wynnewood, Oklahoma, USA - died September 18, 1983, Los Angeles, California, USA) was an American R&B and jump blues singer, drummer and bandleader. He played with Ernie Fields (2)' band in the late 1920's before moving to Los Angeles, California in 1933, where he formed his own band Roy Milton & His Solid Senders playing rhythm and blues which proved to be successful. Nicknamed the "Grandfather of Rhythm & Blues" he was very popular with black audiences from 1945 to 1953.
