Suzanne Mallouk, once long-term partner and muse of painter Jean-Michel Basquiat, dictated her recollections of their relationship to author and close friend Jennifer Clement for the memoir Widow Basquiat, which is set against the downtown art scene of 80s New York. In 1980´s she performed under the name Ruby Desire covering Donna Summer's "Bad Girls" and she had a club hit with the band Madagascar "Like This Like That".
