German pianist, conductor, arranger and composer, student of Arnold Schoenberg. Left Germany in 1933 for Paris. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and continued to live in Paris, finally emigrating to the US in 1977. Most famous for providing the melody for french song "La Chanson Des Rues". Brother of Walter Goehr, uncle of Alexander Goehr. b. Dec. 25, 1906 in Berlin, Germany d. 1981 in Santa Barbara, CA
