Canadian actor, singer, and songwriter. Born June 17, 1904. Died June 9, 1991 in Reno Nevada. Sooter moved to Hollywood in 1923. He is most famous for is many roles in western movies, appearing in 81 movies between the years of 1936-1951 often playing a character who was a musician. Later in his career, he became a frequent actor in the TV series "Gunsmoke", appearing in 84 episodes.
