Band,
Alternative and Rock
Run Westy Run was one of the later groups on the thriving Minneapolis post-punk scene. They were never quite as popular or influential as cohorts like Hüsker Dü, the Replacements, and Soul Asylum, partly because it took them a longer time to develop a distinctive style of their own. They experimented with blues, rock, country, folk, and punk, but not until later did their sound coalesce into something definably theirs, in spite of its frequent creativity.
