Ruthie Morrissey was a popular Irish-American singer in the 1940s-50s. She was a featured singer at the many Rockaway (Queens,NY) Irish dance halls, such as the Leitrim House, Sligo House, Dublin House, etc., all located on 103rd Street--in what was then known as "Irishtown."
