Séan Hill, Keyboardist active in the South African blues music scene. Owner of Talisman Audio recording studio in Johannesburg, South Africa Born May 1965 Died June 2014 Séan started playing piano at age 9 and by age 10 was doing corner Café gigs with mentor Frank Maritz, and then went on to study Classical Organ with the Royal School of Music. Part of the music scene since the late 80’s, Sean has performed with many local groups as well as occasional session work. Sean was keyboardist for the band Raoul and Black Friday, a Johannesburg-based blues-rock band. Séan built Talisman Audio, a recording studio in the Johannesburg suburbs, to exacting standards, taking inspiration and no small amount of technical details from some of the iconic small studios in London, Los Angeles and New York. The debut album from Raoul and Black Friday was recorded, mixed and mastered at the studio by Séan. He was in the middle of a second project, recording and mixing for a local South African progressive metal band when he sadly died.
