S.U.M.P. means "Send Ugly Men Peaches". After the Split-Up of Die Ärzte, Bela B. founded S.U.M.P. in 1989 together with Atze Ludwig, Rod González & Michael Beckmann. Rod González & Michael Beckmann could not appear with full name in the Credits of the EP Get Wise, Get Ugly, Get Sump because they were still under contract with the Band Rainbirds until early 1990. After releasing a EP & appearing on Welcome To Rock ´n´ Roll Hell, they changed their name in 1990 to Depp Jones. The new name was found by Comic Fan Bela B. in the Lucky Luke Comic: Daltons im Blizzard (Les Dalton dans le blizzard/The Daltons in the Blizzard), where Averell Dalton used that name while being undercover
