STEEL SHOCK

Band, BE
Musician of Rock

It was in the year of steel 2003 that guitarist Martjo “Whirlewolf” Brongers (from legendary Dutch heavy metal act VORTEX) came face to face with the young headbanger Nima “MetalHeart” Sadeghi on the Belgian battleground of Graspop Metal Meeting. The two immediately discovered their common passion for Heavy Metal and Jack Daniel’s... and discovered that both were resident in the city of Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. A friendship was born and grew stronger with time. Martjo kept going strong withVortex. Nima became a regular roadie for the band and during the years also took on to singing and rocked in several underground acts, from heavy (GLORIA VICTIS) and power metal (ACT OF STATE), to thrash (PPTA). The talks of the two making music together was something that kept coming up for a long time, but the right time and opportunity never seemed to come along. However, during the years the idea became even stronger as both Jackbangers became more and more disgusted with the current metal scene and the modern bullshit the media were selling as heavy metal. The time was finally there: they had to take it upon themselves to shock the mainstream with true heavy metal. So in early 2016 STEEL SHOCK was born, and with the single goal to play Heavy Metal in the 80s tradition: no trends, no compromise, just pure fucking Heavy Metal and all its glorious clichés. The two were quickly joined by mutual friend, guitarist Lijon “Knight” Silvrants who had been in several metal acts (such as CHRONIC INSOMNIA) since the late 80s and shared the same passion and vision. After a long, unsuccesful, search for a rythm section in their own region, long-time German friend Sasch “Machyne” Menschl offered his services on the bass guitar. Sasch had been in several bands (among which HIGHWAY KILLER and his own SAINTSBLEED) and is also a respected producer in the underground. Sharing the same passion and vision Sasch was the perfect match for STEEL SHOCK. Last but not least we found a great thunderer to beat the shit out of the drums and shock that fuckin’ steel with us, mister E.Klipse, to complete the Steel Shock family. E. has more of an extreme metal background and is also drummer for King for a Day. And now, the wait is over! The anthems of steel are being forged in the fires of the Netherlands and Germany. The ground shakes, the bones break, by STEEL and SHOCK! The first offensive was in February 2017, the ‘First Strike’ Demo. As we say ‘Old School Or No School’ (any questions?) Second offensive is coming your way next autumn, with the CD/LP ‘For Metal To Battle, released on 22 september 2017 via Alone Records, Greece. Get ready to Shock that fuckin’ Steel! And so it begins... Band Members Nima MetalHeart - Vocals Martjo Whirlewolf - Guitars Lijon Knight - Guitars Sasch Machyne - Bass E.Klipse - Drums
