The Sacred Cowboys were a post-punk band originating in Melbourne Australia, active in the 80's and intermittently since then, and still occasionally revived. The band has had numerous members, the sole constant being vocalist Garry Gray, formerly a member of The Reals and The Negatives. The original Sacred Cowboys lineup, as credited on the first single, included two former members of The Models (2), Mark Ferrie and Janis Freidenfelds, Andrew Picouleau of Metronomes, Ian Forrest of Artificial Organs and Terry Doolan. Doolan, Ferrie and Friedenfelds were subsequently in The Slaughtermen.
