Cajun fiddler and one of the pioneers of Cajun music, born November 15, 1905 in Chataignier, Louisiana; died January 3, 1988. He played with Dennis McGee, Amédé Ardoin, Leo Soileau and Wade Frugé, among others. Before his death, Courville ran a furniture store in Eunice, Louisiana. Every Saturday morning he played fiddle on a radio program "Mamou Hour" (in Mamou, Louisiana). His father, Eraste Courville, was a fiddler as well.
