Alternative and Rock
Safe Hands are an Australian mathcore/post-hardcore/metalcore band from Newcastle, New South Wales. The band formed in late 2006, with their first gig taking place in January 2007. From there, the band quickly worked up a strong live reputation, touring with bands such as The Amity Affliction, Fear Before the March of Flames, Thy Art is Murder, Parkway Drive, Antagonist AD and Graf Orlock. An EP, "Against the Wrecking Ball," was released in 2008. Their second EP, "Oh the Humanity," was released in 2011. The band has been through radical line-up changes in its time, including loss of singers, bassists and drummers; as well as shuffling of band members into new roles, most notably former bassist and founding member Benjamin "Diz" Louttit taking the role of frontman from 2010 onwards. Louttit and guitarist Anthony Webster are the band's sole remaining original members. Under Adelaide independent label Pee Records, they released a long-awaited debut album, Montenegro, in March 2013. Following its release, the band did their first-ever international tour with a trip to South-East Asia. In 2014, the band released a split seven-inch with A Secret Death, which featured two new songs from each band. - From LastFM
