Electronic and Soundtrack
Sam Marshall has always found ways to unite his passion of music with technology. At 10 years old, Sam was rigging boom boxes together to do overdubs. By 14 years old, he was creating experimential loop tracks with the very first version of Acid Pro. After playing in several rock bands over the years, Sam realized his true passion was composition. Once he discovered midi sequencing, Sam harnessed the tools to create the music he had always envisioned, beyond the restrictions of the pop and rock worlds. The only thing older than Sam’s love of music is his obsession with games. Sam’s relentless fervor and dedication to bring innovative and powerful music to the gaming world is the driving force behind his artistry. Sam is currently a double major in Film Scoring and Composition at Berklee College of Music, with his focus on Interactive Music. In the summer of 2011, Sam completed a music production internship at SCEA Playstation. While at SCEA Playstation he worked on titles such as Uncharted 3, StarHawk, and God of War Collection. In the summer of 2010, Sam completed an audio design internship at the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab. He remained on their staff after being asked to return through the current academic year. In 2006 Sam interned at Telefunken North America, where he learned the industry standards of audio production. With a music library comprised of over 250 original compositions, Sam also uses his home studio to do audio production for artists in the Boston area.
