Sam Hjalmar Rydberg (b. October 27 1885 in Nyköping d. March 25 1956 in Stockholm) was a military musician, conductor, music director and composer. He is one of Sweden’s most noted march composers, but he also composed piano music and chamber music. Director of Music degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 1926. From 1906−35 he was a band member of the Svea Engineer Regiment (Ing 1), where he was promoted to conductor in 1928, and director of music in 1932.
