From the sleeve notes : Samoa, the Minneapolis- St Paul area Jazz Funk powerhouse has been in existence since September of 1981, and has worked nearly none stop ever since. Samoa has shared the stage with such notables as Yellow Jackets. They have won Best Jazz Group in 1982, Best Fusion Group in 1985 and Best Latin Group in 1986 in the Prestigious Minnesota Music Awards
