Album 1976 on OST label
Rock, Folk, World and (Folk Rock)
This is Sands final release. I'm not sure of personnel it may be just Jack and Dan, I know Rich is credited For production but I don't have any personnel listing on the record and this will probably be the only place that you will find info for this release online, I would expect. The Bio below Is from Two Louie's "The History Of Portland Rock". The pictures and personnel data are from the "Pacific NW Bands" website. I have two sealed copies of this is stock I guess I will have to open and burn one for posterity. I know that I either worked a show as a staff usher or saw a show of this material when it was released. I cannot remember whether it was '75 or 76.I remember it was pretty much Dan and Jack onstage but I can't remember if there was a rhythm section. I am fairly certain I have the last two unopened copies of this release. I doubt they printed more than 500 copies. Now, Buck Munger writes: "Sand was another popular Portland band of the early ‘70s, a soulful folk-rock outfit whose sound and sensibilities were similar to Crosby, Stills and Nash- with, perhaps, a little funkier veneer overlaid. Band members included guitarist/vocalists Dan Wilson, Dan Ross and Jack Meussdorffer, bassist Rich Gooch, along with keyboardist Attilio Panassidi and drummer Steve Williams. Sand were so popular that they were able to release for the Barnaby label (distributed through MGM) a modestly successful self-titled double-record vinyl album, which had recorded material on only two of four available sides- the premise being that side one could flow directly into side two on a standard record changer turntable!"
