A.k.a. Sandra Lynn Rowe
Born: 18th January 1949, San Pedro, California, USA. Died: 23rd April 1991, Albion, California, USA. Leano was a 'wild-child' of the 60's freak-scene on L.A.s Sunset Strip, hanging out at The Insomniac on Hermosa Beach & frequenting the Intangible Tangerine. She became part of the retinue around Szou & Vito Paulekas and Carl Franzoni that was The Laurel Canyon Ballet Company. Much of this traveling carnival troupe became associated with an early tour of The Byrds. As 'Miss Sandra', she became part of Frank Zappa's project 'Girls Together Outrageously' aka GTO's. It was at Zappa's 2401 Laurel Canyon address, the infamous Log Cabin, that Leano met its basement resident and artist Cal Schenkel. Their relationship bore a daughter, Raven. The 'Miss' prefix, adopted by the GTO members, was inspired by the manner in which they were addressed by regular cabin visitor Tiny Tim. Leano later returned to San Pedro, eventually marrying an Italian and moving to Italy to raise a family.
