Belgian 60's rockband from Aalst. Members: Freddy Thybaert (drums); Marcel De Vijlder (+) (rythm guitar); Jozef 'Jef' De Vos (+) (bass); Romain De Smet (lead guitar); Dirk Dierickx (2) as Sandy (vocals). (From left to right on the first picture taken in 1964) They started as The Crual Cats around 1959 with Jozef 'Jef' De Vos (+) (Leader, Bass and Guitar); Dirk Dierickx (Vocals and Guitar); Gerard Lorie (Guitar and Bass) and Maurits Van Essche (Drums). From 1961 until the end of 1963 they played as The Voodoos. On another picture you find the original members (from left to right): Jozef 'Jef' De Vos (+) (bass); Dirk Dierickx (2) (vocals and rythm guitar); Gerard Lorie (lead guitar); Henry Bodard (Drums) 1964 they changed their name in Sandy And The Voodoos and recorded their first and only single in a studio in Brussels in may of that year. Heartaches / When The Night Is Blue. 1964 and 1965 where top-years for Sandy And The Voodoos. They did many gigs all over Flanders almost 3 shows every week.
