Sanja Ćupurdija is Serbian pop lyricist, composer and occasional backing vocalist. She was born Aleksandra Adamović on 5 March 1975 in Belgrade, Serbia. Nicknamed Sanja, her first lyrics were recorded while she was still in high school and she became associated with the Serbian dance scene in 1990s and 2000s working with many artists within this type of music. An amateur guitar player, she also began composing. She graduated from the Belgrade’s Philology Faculty and is employed in the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences. Changed name to Sanja Ćupurdija after getting married and today lives in Belgrade, with her husband and their four children.
