Satoshi Imano is one of the most hotly discussed techno musicians in the industry at present, drawing attention both domestically in Japan and further abroad in Europe. Since his debut in 1999, his meteoric rise to success has shown no signs of slowing, with his achievements including entering the charts in Europe for both singles and albums. Winning the grand prize in Sound & Recording Magazine’s “the HIATUS ‘Thirst’ Remix Contest” and composing for various stage and screen projects, his multifaceted work has transcended the club scene, and he commands a great deal of respect in many areas of the entertainment industry. From January 2014, he has planned, produced and contributed artwork to “Tokyo Techno Liner”, a program run by Liverpool-based station Framed.FM, and the UK’s first to focus exclusively on Japanese techno DJs. Operating as the program’s main DJ himself, he continually strives to present new facets of techno to the world, with a focus on original tracks. Despite being that rare kind of person who marries talent and success in a given industry with a hands-on approach to the business side of things, Imano remains committed to pursuing new and different types of dance music, and his unfading passion for the genre means that he is only continuing to grow as an artist.
