Sauron was formed in early 1998 by Mathias Öjermark and Christos Chatzikonstandinos who played together in Ruins of Time. The band was formed mostly as an outlet for their interest in black metal. The first song was recorded before the band was even formed and Christos did some vocals just for the fun of it, with a very bad piece of lyrics. The band evolved from there and got more serious with time. After their second demo, they searched for more members but never found the approriate people to make it a complete band and recorded the third demo as a two-piece and then put the band to rest.
