Ustad Hussain Sayeeduddin Dagar (20 April 1939 (Alwar) – 30 July 2017 (Pune)) was a Indian Dhrupad singer of the Dagarvani tradition of North Indian classical music. He was the son of the late Ustad Hussainudin Dagar (pandit Tansen Pandey) and the grandson of the legendary Ustad Allahbande Khan Dagar of Alwar, Rajasthan. A product of the traditional 'Guru Shishya Parampara' training, Ustad Sayeeduddin Dagar was initiated at the tender age of six under the experienced hands of his father. This was followed by further training under guidance of his illustrious Uncle, Padma Bhushan Ustad Rahimuddin Khan Dagar, as well as from his cousins Ustad Aminuddin Dagar, Ustad R. Fahimuddin Dagar, Ustad N. Zahiruddin Dagar and Ustad N. Faiyazuddin Dagar. Ustad Sayeeduddin Dagar was awarded the 'Sur Mani' title by the Sursingar Samsad, Bombay in 1969. He participated in all the major music festivals in India. The Ustad has also performed in Germany, Holland, Italy, Belgium and France. He regularly conducted workshops on Dhrupad in France, Italy, Belgium & Bangladesh. In February 2004 he was awarded the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' by the University of Pune. His tradition is carried on by his two sons Nafeesuddin and Aneesuddin Dagar, and his French disciples Jérôme Cormier and Gilles Monfort.
