Scott McEwen is a record producer, recording engineer and studio owner who lives in Nashville, TN. Scott owns Fry Pharmacy Recording in Nashville and Memphis Magnetic Recording co. in Memphis. McEwen is also a touring bass player and has worked with Robert Plant, CJ Chiener, Rosie Flores, The Tarbox Ramblers, Hank III, McEwen has a indie rock, roots country and country blues background but grew up in the punk scene in Detroit, MI playing the band Cancer in the 1980's. He moved to NYC to play with ex Live Skull founder Marc C's band, Spoiler on who was on Matador Records at the time. In 2004, Scott co-founded Fry Pharmacy Recording and since then has been the primary force behind the studio and recordings made there. The Fry Pharmacy is a special and unique recording studio not only in the physical space, but Scott’s choice of utilizing analog tape and vintage classic recording equipment. In 2017 Scott McEwen opened the Memphis Recording Studio, Memphis Magnetic Recording co.
