Born in New York City in 1954 and raised in Los Angeles, jazz journalist Scott Yanow has reviewed thousands of jazz and blues LPs & CDs since he began his writing career in 1975. He has written 12 books on jazz and was the editor for the third edition of The All Music Guide to Jazz. Yanow has contributed to a number of publications and websites, has written hundreds of liner notes and press bios. Yanow's stated goal is to collect "all of the great recordings."
