Single DE 2008 on Frozen Elephants Music label
Electronic (Abstract, Experimental)
Sebastian Peter's 20 minute piece 'Fließen' was originally produced as a 8-channel sound-installation at Müllersches Volksbad, Munich and has been part the Natalie Singer 'Well(e)ness' radio art project at Bauhaus-University Weimar in early 2008. The composition is split into 5 parts each reflecting on water as a subject of environmental awareness, using field/water-recordings and digital sound. Peter slowly changes the sound of 'Fließen' by turning the clean image of sparkling waters into some muddy puddle, tempting to question our ideas of water as a free natural resource. While the original 8-channel installation was based on the tonal and spatial fragmentation (and continuous compression and of both sound and room) the new 2-channel version has reduced these features to stereo working best with headphones. Sebastian Peter currently lives in Weimar, Germany studying and working in the fields of philosophy, electro acoustic music and media design. Coverartwork by Moritz Wiegand.
