Turkish guitar player, songwriter & arranger. Brother of Uğur Başar. Born 13. 03. 1944, Ankara, Turkey, died: 05. 02. 2011, İstanbul, Turkey. He started his musical life in 1964 with a non-professional group called “Mete ve Metinler”, later on in 1965 he started his musical career joining Şerif Yüzbaşıoğlu’s orchestra. 1968 Başar became a member of Durul Gence 5 and finally founded his own orchestra İstanbul Gelişim Orkestrası in 1969.
