A.k.a. Selam Seyoum Woldemariam

Ethiopian guitarist, also known as "Selamino" He was born June 10, 1954 in Addis Abeba. He released over 250 (mostly locally produced) albums in his more than forty years as a professional musician. He was first part of Addis Abeba's music scene where he played mostly cover versions of international hits. He then moved to Asmara and studied traditional guitar before getting signed back to Addis' Venus Club. After short time he replaced Andrew Wilson in the Ibex Band which was reforming into Mohamed Ahmed's backing band at the time. After the end of Ibex Band, Selam went on and formed the legendary Roha Band together with Giovanni Rico and Fekade Ande Maskal. Nowadays he lives in New York City and still plays music.
