"A music for large american roads, where contemporary cowboys play pop music in large open-air american cars. Through our open windows, we can hear the shelled notes of a glockenspiel, and the smart superimposition of electric and acoustic guitars. We can feel the flights of some winding voices, on waves of old wobbly analogic keybords. When the car passes away, we are surprised to keep on singing one of those heady choruses, that we’ll keep in mouth till the next croosroads. After a self-titled album, produced by Scalde in 2003, Selar stands out a much more radical and personnal bend. In New Estates, he affirms his lo-fi influences, and claims his taste for americana music. After a bunch of gigs with an electric four-pieces-combo, which allowed him to join the Dandelyon selection in 2005, Selar managed to find his own space and audience in the pop scene of Lyon. Through sheer force of gigs, Selar built his own musical identity, way different from his folky mates, an unique style, and a strong song-writer reputation. Que demande le peuple ? To come and see him live on stage !!"
