Project Semema was created in 2001 by an artist Ģirts Korps, a culture theoretician Katrīna Teivāne-Korpa, and an art historian Velga Kūkuma. Main purpose of Semema was to create and to develop audio-visual projects in co-operation with different musicians who belonged to the subculture of industrial music.
