Artist Portrait

Semiconductor

Conductor of Electronic
A.k.a. Ruth Jarman, Joseph Gerhardt

Semiconductor was founded back in 1997 by Ruth Jarman (born in Fareham, UK) and Joseph Gerhardt (born in Oxford, UK), both living and working in Brighton, UK. Semiconductor make films out of sound. Never the sole producers, their work takes on board the randomness and errors found within computer systems as a co-architect. They organise events, creating opportunities for both themselves and other artists working with electronic sound and image.
