German classics trio founded in 1984 by Wilhelm F. Walz and Jörg Metzger with the pianist Arne Torger. Today, Gottfried Hefele is the pianist of the Trio. The name was derived from the Ventian violin maker Santo Seraphin (1699 - 1758).
