Sergio Jiménez Lacima is a prolific composer and conductor for films, TV, Video Games and Concert Music. Born in Spain, he began his music studies very early, at the age of 3. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate in Film Scoring and Video Game Scoring at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), where he studied with a full scholarship granted by SGAE and Berklee. He has a Masters Degree in Orchestral Conducting and two Bachelor Degrees in Piano Performance and Orchestral Conducting, all earned in Spain. He is also a graduate from the ASCAP Television & Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis, held annually in Los Angeles. As a composer, he has won several National and International Composition Contests with works for symphonic band and chamber music. He has received several awards and honors as: Candidate for Best Original Score at the 2014 Goya Awards (Spanish equivalent to the Oscars), Best Comedy Composer at the LA Web Fest, Nominee and Finalist at the II Aragon Cinema “Simon Awards”, Nominee and Finalist for the VI Jerry Goldsmith Awards, the ASCAP Foundation Steve Kaplan TV & Film Studies Scholarship, the Recording Musicians Association of Los Angeles Grant (RMALA), the “Michael Kamen Award” and First Prize for best final project at Berklee, among others. As a conductor, he was Conductor and Artistic Director of two Symphonic Bands in Spain. He has worked with several orchestras in the USA and Europe, either as a composer, orchestrator or conductor, including the following: the Hollywood Studio Symphony, the London Philarmonia Orchestra, the Goya Symphony Orchestra and the Zaragoza Wind Orchestra, among others. In 2010, he was selected as Assistant Conductor of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra. Some of his latest credits include: "Anomalous", feature film directed by Hugo Stuven; “WAX”, feature film directed by Víctor Matellano; “VIRAL”, feature film directed by Lucas Figueroa; “Slice 3”, feature film directed by Pierre Edwards; “Capacitados”, TV Documentary Series directed by Javier Calvo, for TVE (Spanish National Television); additional music for blockbuster video game “Call of Duty: Black Ops II”; and orchestrations for first season prime time Spanish TV show "Isabel", to name a few. He also wrote string arrangements for "Palosanto", last album by Latin rock star Enrique Bunbury, recorded with the Budapest Art Orchestra. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California and works very actively in both the US and Spanish industries
