Dj Psychogene discovered the sound of house music in 1988, listening to a local radio show. A couple of years later, he got his turntables and started mixin', but surely without expecting to be an influence of the worldwide technoscene some years later.In 1993, not much was going on in the underground techno scenein Belgium, so he decided to organise his own parties, called NEUROLEPTICÆ. After 8 years of existence, NEUROLEPTICÆ is the most succesful party organisation in Brussels, catering for the techno lovers, each party being a long awaited event.On the Dj side, Psychogene became a resident at the Network club in Brussels in 1995, where he played with names such as : The Advent (World tour),Bandulu, Electric Indigo, UR Dj Squad, Sensurreal, Tom Middleton,Max 404, etc...At the same time he was also running the Network radio show along with Deg on Radio Crystal, later on followed by guest shows on several national radios.He has also been organising other events such as ìThe Sound Gatheringî(Belgian Electronic Festival), the 5 Years of Re-Load party in Fuse with Damon Wild, Felix Da Housecat, Miss Djax and Daz Saund,and two Tresor Label Nights with topssuch as Blake Baxter,Ben Sims, Dave tarrida, DJ Rok, Mad Max apart from a collaboration with the Fuse Club for "Madeinbrussels vs Fuse".In 1999 he officially started te madeinbrussels parties, a monthly event which soonbecame a weekly club night (since june 2000) due to its enormous success.Finalized he has played all the big clubs of Belgium : Fuse, Food, Scene, Cherry Moon, Cafe d'Anvers, and also some special events like Dour Festival, I Love Techno, 10 Days of Techno, Kozmozz, Playstation, Out Soon, Teknoville, Fiesta, La Rocca... sharing the decks with techno-dons such as Luke Slater, Underworld, Dj Pierre, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Sven Väth, Claude Young, Richie Hawtin, Kevin Saunderson, Cari Lekebusch, Laurent Garnier... Apart from Belgium, he has played for many organisations in France (Paris,Lille, Lyon, Nice...), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona), Luxemburg (Cafe de la Gare), Germany (Nature One2001) Holland (Amsterdam, Utrecht, Vaals)His production skills are equally as impressive. To date he is responsible for nearly 20 productions and mainly known as being one half of the worldwide well-known and highly respected techno-act SHARPSIDE, whose singles „Critical Freaks“, „I love techno“, „Belgian Resistance“, „Interlude“ and „Space Cruisin“ (on Dave Angels imprint Rotation) have received fully support by almost everyone who is in touch with technomusic, from Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier over Luke Slater to Danny Tenaglia! So this man is definately a major part of the global technoscene! That might also be the reason for being chosen to remix one of the forthcoming singles of worlds highly acclaimed UNDERWORLD...
