Difficult to believe though it is, Sheena Vallely is not only a world class Irish Traditional flute player, she is also a world class print-maker and artist, having exhibited all round the world. She also lectures in art in Bristol. She belongs to an amazingly artistic and musical family, famous for having helped found the Armagh Pipers Club which is still flourishing to this day. Her brothers include pipers and concertina players and she plays and teaches the whistle and flute. She is sister to the famous painter and piper Brian Vallely and Fintan Vallely, piper and flautist and Dara Vallely. Her nephews, Cillian Vallely, Caoimhín and Niall all play music professionally, including pipes for Lúnasa.
