American actress born in Houston, July 7, 1949. In her career over 30 films plus many more for TV. Robert Altman is the director who make her debut in Brewster McCloud at age 21 and directed her more often. Best known to the public for her portrayal of Wendy, the naive and distressed wife of Jack Torrance in Shining by Stanley Kubrick and the celebrated resemblance to Olivia Oyl in Popeye. Both films in 1980, but the golden year is 1977 receiving the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival and also at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, both for her performance as Mildred "Millie" Lammoreaux in 3 Women, always directed by Altman.
